Important Update: Changes to Bulk Billing from 1 November 2025

From 1 November 2025, the Australian Government is changing the Medicare bulk billing system for GP services.

To align with these changes and focus on caring for our existing patients, our practice will return to bulk billing for standard GP consultations.

If you have a valid Medicare card, your check-ups, script renewals, and general appointments will have no out-of-pocket cost.

Some services—such as procedures and iron infusions—are not covered under the new bulk billing rules and will attract private fees.

If you’re unsure whether your appointment is bulk billed, please check with our reception team when booking or checking in.

Telehealth Consultations

Telehealth consultations are available at Barrymore Medical Centre.

Bulk billed Telehealth Consultations are available to patients who meet the current Medicare criteria, please contact the clinic to find out if you are eligible.

Non eligible patients will be required to pay for the consultation which will be a $65.00 fee. This fee is non-rebatable by Medicare.
